Cuddle Session Checklist
Sure there are rules and requirements to book a session with me like the Code of Conduct created by Cuddlist, but what about all the ins and outs of a session here at Sonder Embrace that may differ from anyone else you might book at Cuddlist?
Yes! At Cuddlist, we get to individualize our practices based on our own needs and safety concerns. That’s one of the reasons why Cuddlists can show up happily and provide this service wholeheartedly. The more comfortable WE are the better the session for you!
Obviously, you can go to the FAQ page and look up anything specific you are wondering about. I have even made it easier to navigate by providing a clickable table of contents at the top of the screen. A lot to read though, even for me, and I am the one who wrote it! So with no further ado here is a just-the-basics quick-n-dirty checklist for your reference including a short explanation:
FEES: The client pays a deposit to hold their appointment time and makes the rest of the payment at the beginning of the session
The client will be expected to show up on time. If the client is 15 or more minutes late their appointment will be canceled or rescheduled. Any deposits paid will be forfeited
The client will refrain from knocking or ringing the doorbell earlier than 5 minutes before their session
The client will come wearing comfortable clothes that they wish to cuddle in
The client will NOT bring weapons to their session
The client will cancel no less than 24 hours before their appointment
And for those who want a little more about those rules, here is the same list with some explanation.
The client pays a deposit to hold their appointment time and makes the rest of the payment at the beginning of the session - Life. JUST. Happens. So pre-paying a deposit honors my time in the event you need to cancel. Deposits are applied to the session fee. Paying the rest at the beginning of the session will allow us to both relax for the duration of our appointment and have nothing to worry about as we come out of our cozy cuddle bubble relaxed and maybe not thinking about things like fees.
The client will be expected to show up on time. If the client is 15 or more minutes late their appointment will be canceled or rescheduled. Any deposits paid will be forfeited - This is a pretty standard practice. Just think about the planning and emotional labor that goes into creating a safe relational space for a client. When my preparation isn’t honored by punctuality, it becomes harder for me to hold space effectively. Our time is precious and a cuddle session TAKES time to be effective.
The client will refrain from knocking or ringing the doorbell earlier than 5 minutes before their session - I try to plan space between sessions so that I have time to ground and be fully ready
The client will come wearing comfortable clothes that they wish to cuddle in - Very specifically I say this because your session starts when you walk through the door and ends at the previously agreed-upon time. If you show up in comfy clothes, that’s more time to cuddle!
The client will NOT bring weapons to their session - I mean, that’s a pretty obvious one, no? If you have an item that is small (we’re talking hangs on a keychain sized) and it is something that you take everywhere for self-defense I understand your desire to have it with you and it shouldn’t be a problem. When in doubt, please ask first or leave it in your car. That way we both can have clear communication about expectations.
The client will cancel no less than 24 hours before their appointment - Again, life happens, so I won’t get angry if something comes up and you need to cancel last minute. Please just note that if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, your deposit will not be transferable to the next session you book. If you give me 24 hours or more advance notice, any deposit you have already paid will be transferred to a future appointment.
